Immigration

We are a registered provider of immigration medicals for Immigration New Zealand.

For all enquiries regarding immigration medicals, and to make appointments, contact Fiona, Immigration Administrator, or Karina, Healthcare Assistant; immigration@eastfield.health.nz.  Please include in your email whether you need a full medical, a limited medical or just a chest x-ray.  We also need your:

  • full name
  • date of birth
  • address
  • mobile phone number
  • photo page of passport

If you need an immigration medical completed

  • You will need to book TWO appointments.
  • The first appointment is for the immigration medical clinic morning.  You will need:
    • your passport
    • glasses (if worn)
    • any medical reports, e.g. from a specialist
    • evidence of pregnancy if applicable, i.e. from your midwife

 

  • No other paperwork is required
  • Your photo will be taken
  • You will be referred to Ashburton Hospital for  chest x-ray and blood tests.
  • Children under the age of 11 years do not require either chest x-ray or blood test.
  • Children under the age of 15 years do not require a blood test.
  • Your second appointment will be arranged with the Immigration Medical Doctor.  You will have a full medical exam and will be asked to provide a urine sample.
  • Please eat and drink as usual on the day of your examination.
  • Once your medical examination is completed the EMedical will be submitted electronically to New Zealand Immigration. You will receive a confirmation email from New Zealand Immigration.

A deposit of $100 is payable at the time of making your appointment.  If you miss your appointment this deposit will NOT be refunded.

If you cannot keep your appointments and need to arrange another time please phone us at least two days prior to your original appointment.

Interpreter service

If you require an interpreter for your appointment we can arrange this for you free of charge. Please inform us at the time of booking so we can organise for you.

What are the blood tests?

These are done at Ashburton Hospital. You will be given a referral form to take. A sample of your blood will be taken for seven tests:

  1. Complete blood count
  2. Hepatitis B
  3. Hepatitis C
  4. HIV
  5. Syphilis
  6. Kidney function
  7. Diabetes check
